dear brother
i am once more seated to try to answer your letter i was glad to from you but was sory to hear that cousen charley was dead i do not know how soon i may bee on the same battle ground where he was killed nor i do not much care ether we have not had a chance to get a shot at a reb yet but we have expected it a number of times and i begin to think that we shall never have a chance as long as we stay here i hope that you will have a good time newyears and christmas harrison i wish that i was there to enjoy it with you enstead / of being here where i am but there is no use of talking i am here and shall be prety apt to stay here as long as the war lasts about the draft in jenuary i do not beleive that there will ever be another draft in ohio for i beleive the war is to near a close for that i should like to know what you are all doing out there in richmond to night tell jane fuller if she ever marres uncle Rawson that i shall go distrated but i have not time to wright eny more this time give my best respects to all of the girls in Richmond wright soon so good night from your brother
