Daniel Fisher
Daniel Fisher was born around 1836 in Pennsylvania. He eventually moved to Mason City, Illinois, and by 1860, he was working as a laborer on the farm of Levi Scott. He enlisted in the Union army on May 25, 1861, and mustered in as a private in Company K of the 17th Illinois Infantry later that day. He fell ill in July but eventually recovered and rejoined his regiment. He was fatally wounded in the Battle of Fredericktown on October 21, 1861, and he died in a regimental hospital two days later.
