Hartford Oct. 7th 1878.
Dear Aunt Adilaide and Ida.
I thought I would write you a letter, Emma and I wrote you a letter soon after I got home and as you did not answer it I concluded that you did not get it. I am writing this in bed on Sunday morning. those slips you gave me are growing very nice that callas lily you gave me is growing splendid there are four new leaves on it since you gave it to me and the rest are growing nice I did not go to last week as mama was sick one night something bit her and she thought it was a moquitoes bite but I guess it was a black spiders bite and /ever since it has been swelling it is getting better now and it broke yesterday but she will be well in a little while up street there are them tin belts that I had on they are only ten cts and if you want to buy one for Ida you can send the money and I will buy it for you are the berries all gone Ida I suppose you will go chestnutting this fall wont you. I went yesterday and I got a few how is Minnie Huft does she live here now give my love to her and how is that little calf has he grown much and do you and Minnie milk it now the we did and how is George and Hattie is their new house done yet and do they live in it give my love to all and plenty for yourself answer soon mama sends her love from Cora
