December 4th, 1879.
Northbridge Centre Dec 4, 1879
to my dear little buttermilk I was glad to hear from you and that you are well. I suppose you feel awful lonesome now Geo & Hat have gone away and since uncle Frank died. I would just like to be out there and see you.
I suppose you felt pretty big riding horse back to school. can you ride on uncle Franks saddle if so I hope you will keep it as long as you live. I have eat so much I can hardly write it makes me feel lazy and fat. I am going to leave off eating guess I wont eat / no more until next July. Grandma sends her love to you and says she will write to you before long. Grandpa sends his love to you to. well I cant think of any more to write to night so I will bid you good night for this time.
from your loving uncle
