Dear Mother
            I seat myself to write you a few lines to let you no that I have been sick but I am geting better now I hope that this will find you all injoying the best of helth Thare is no news of aney noat to day so I will not atemp to pen aney to you I have recived (4) four letters from you but as yet I have not had the oppertunity to answer them. but you must excuse me for not writing for I was to sick to write Mr Atkinson has not returned yet but we ar looking for him every day
 
I would like to be down thare to go to school this winter but that would be imposable but if I live the time is not far distance when I shal cum home I cannot write much this time but if nothing happens I will do better the next time that I write to / you Give my love to all our friends and recive the same your self tel all the folks to write to me so I must close by wishing all joy
