Nathaniel D. Wiggin
Nathaniel D. Wiggin was born around 1839 in Parsonsfield, Maine, to Daniel and Hannah Wiggin. He apparently grew up in his uncle Samuel Wiggin’s household in Parsonsfield. During the Civil War, he served as a clerk in the Department of the Interior and an agent of the Maine State Sanitary Commission. He married Mary S. Cleaves on March 15, 1865, and they had one child. The family lived in Boston, Massachusetts, and he earned a living as a clerk. He died there of phthisis on March 20, 1882.
