Dear Brother:—
It is now 10 o'clock P.M. and we have just received orders to march tomorrow morning at 7 for the front where they are fighting so be on the look out for Co "I" for they are going to keep the Caps here and I have again got to lead it to the charge, and I am determined to cus my way through.

I am again in perfect health and ready for the fight; can tip one hundred and sixty, so you may judge I have gained some since you went home. Collins is here, but dont look tough like I do and but he thinks he will go long with us

We have not heard from any of you since you wrote us immediately on your arrival home though we have written home. Please let us hear from some of you soon. I hear the 28 has gone down to North Carolina but am not certain; if so they will have some work to do.

Wednesday I went to Baltimore with 15 rebel prisoners, went all alone with them by R.R. but got them through all right. Stoped there one night and day; saw the whole City like it much. It is now quite late and I have got some sewing to do before retiring and I must close. The weather is very fine with some indications of a storm.

Please don't worry about us if you dont hear from us for some time again for I don't know when I shall get another chance to write but hoping, and believing we shall all meet again. I am

Your Brother
Paul

P.S.
I understand they are buying some horses in Maine for this Regmt, if so and you can work one in for me I would like to have you & you by me a right good one and send him along dont pay over $150
