Paul Chadbourn to Darling H. Chadbourn, 10 January 1864
Camp 1st Me Cavalry
Warrenton Jan 10 1864
Dear Brother—
Yours of the 3rd is received I was pleased to hear you were all doing well, for if the weather with you has been as cold as it has been here since I returned it is a wonder how you have kept that little fellow from freezing.
I will enclose twenty dollars in this which I hope will make you all comfortable. This leaves us very well. I have a bad cold but Collins is well. We are very busy putting up winter quarters I had five men captured last thursday just out of camp, so you see we are not out of danger.
Write as soon as you receive this.
Affectionately your brother
Paul Chadbourne
