Camp 1st Me Cavalry
Warrenton Va Jan 31 1864
Dear Brother:
About the 12th of this month I received a letter from you and in answer sent you twenty dollars but have received no answer and am fearful you did not get it, and I wish to know whether you did or not for I am a little suspicious of a young man who saw me inclose it, back the letter and mail it.
We are well and doing well and hope you are the same, Lizzie, babies and all. Collins has re-enlisted but dont know when he will get his furlough, but think the last of February.
The weather has been most delightful for the past fortnight, but now is dull and rainy. I go on picket tomorrow The guerrillas plague us much but just as sure as I catch one he wont plague us again
We received letters from Joe & Mellie last eve; all well at home. How is little Bailey and his engine?
Let me hear from you soon and Oblige
Your Brother
Paul Chadbourne
