Dear Brother & Sister.
Yours of the 28th I recd last night, it found me well and may this find you in good health, is the best wish of the writer. you wrote that Uncle Nobles folks had moved, but did not say where they had gone to. I recd your letter with the stamps in. I believe I mentioned it in a letter before this. /
We are laying still here doing nothing but Picket duty, and to drill a little once in a while. on wednesday of this week we were mustered for two months pay. my pay per month is about $108 dollars, per month. but that includes a servants pay, and clothes and rations, but the servant, I have not found yet.
When we get our pay again I will send you some more money, and you may use it just as you are a mind to. But I think you had better pay it on your place. / tell Noble that I have not got any new boots yet, but I expect to have in a few days. I got a letter from A. A. Kennedy last night, stating that he had started a box of boots for me. they have not got here yet. You tell Alvah that when the boots get here I will write to him and send the money to pay the express. tell Margaret to write me a letter.
so I must close. write soon. this from your Brother Wm Chase
