Sister & Brother,
Yours of the 7th was recd in due time and I was very glad to hear that you were all well. How is it about all them weddings going off this winter I want to know whether Russel Kennedy is married or not and then about Floyd Taylor. we have heard that he was married to Hep Carvey. / E. B. Carvey dont like it much. he says that he would rather have followed her to the grave than to have had her married a Taylor, but I cant blame the girls. it is a poor sight for them to wait for any of the boys in the army to come home, only such as are discharged for disability, the way the thing looks now. there will be but a few live to see the end of their enlistment, and them that do will be tough. / Mary, why dont you write to Daniel if you want to hear from him. Direct to Washington, DC, Co F. 23rd Regt, N.Y.Vol. If you will send me Frank Ashlys address, I will write him a letter. I had a letter from Wallace this week, he is well, and to work sawing shingles. there is nothing going on here worth writing about so I must close. Please write soon. my love to all. this from your Brother Lieut Wm Chase, Co I 45th P.V.
