June 15th 1865.
Dear Sister,
Mary, your very wellcome letter of May and June I rec'd today. very glad to hear from you again and that you were all well. I begun to think that you had all forgotten me. I have waited and waited until I had all most given up hearing from you again.
I have not heard from home in about a month. I expect that Wallace is at home by this time and I dont know but / Daniel is too. The last time Dan wrote to me he said he expected that they would be discharged in a few days.
I am very busy now days, have not had time go out of sight of the Regt since we have been here. I am in the Sutler Shop yet. dont know when I shall come home. think I will some time this summer if nothing happens to prevent.
What does George want to sell out for. does he want to get away from his relatives.
think he had better stay where he is as long as he can make a living there. /
Mary, by the time I get back up there the girls will all be married, so that I will have to go down to Delaware again. I think that Clarissa Townsend drove her pigs to a poor market, if she has married that Taylor, but I am only telling you this, not that I had any interest there though. by the way, how does my Philipps girls get along. Are they as strong Secesh as ever. When you see any of them give them my respects. tell them that their Cousin Vanvali[edge overwritten] is here with the Regt. now.
Mary, as it is late, I will close, hoping to hear from you again sometime /
My Respects to all friends. accept love for all. from your
Brother
