Edward A. Flewellen to Andrew J. Foard, 1 October 1861
Hospital, Pensacola, Fla
Oct 1/61

Dear Dr
From data furnished it is impossible for me to make a correct, or even to my own mind a satisfactory a satisfactory return in compliance with Genl. Order 86 & 202.

One main source of the difficulty is the lot of medicines &c found here when I came down, and for which I understood Dr Hargis gave his receipt. If his receipts had been taken up & mine put in place, and an aggregate made I could get on with greater facility. Or even if I had an inventory of the articles found here it would remove some / of the difficulties. Hargis kept no duplicate of his recpt. so please bring with you tomorrow his recpt. that I may get the benefit of what light it may shed on the matter.

A few articles donated are also in my way. Shall they be accounted for? I can find the recpts sent over, purporting to be an aggregate of all furnished Tompkins very incorrect. Several items I know are omitted.

To conclude, I have stoped writing, as the perplexities increase, till you can be sure General Orders to the contrary notwithstanding.

When you come over give yourself some time to change words with me. If in as great hurry as usual, you will leave / things as you find them

Respectfully
Yr obt Svt
