Agnes Ranger
Agnes Ranger (maiden name: Evens) was born around 1834 in New York to Daniel and Agnes Evens. His father was a tailor who owned $600 of real estate in 1850. She grew up and attended school in Rensselaerville, New York. She married Frederick E. Ranger around 1857, and they had at least four children: Florence, born around 1858; Caroline, born around 1860; Gertrude, born around 1862; and William, born around 1864. The couple lived in Glens Falls, New York, and her husband worked as a bookstore merchant and a lawyer. Frederick died on November 17, 1888. She applied for a widow’s pension in December 1888 and secured one soon afterward. She died in New York around 1896.
