Dear Cousin I take my pen in hand to night to wright you an answer to your very kind letter that came to hand the 24th of October which gave me much satisfaction it made me think that some of my conection had not forgoton me Noah I thank you for the interduction that you have made to me. it does me good to git a letter from old N.C. I did think that all my conection back there had forsaken me and trying to forget me allso but you for one has come out boldly an shode to me that you had neither forsaken nor forgoton me I hav nothing of interest to write to you at this time Onley I will tell you something about texas. Sugar and coffee and molases is about the same heare that they are thire and flower is allso about the same Cotton is worth 11cts per pound corn is worth 50cts per bushel bacon is worth ten cents per pound beef from too and half to three cents per pound and can skersley git that I have not heard of any pork selling yet Corn crops is not very good but cotton crops is very good in places the man that I am working with the people of the settlemen sais that he wil make a bale /

to the acre he has got five acres in cotton and some sais that he will make six bales I am well at this time and doing tolarbly well at and I hope that these few lines may find you injoying lifes same blessing.
I am working for twelve dollars and a half per month I will work at that untill the twenty fifth of this month and then I will git fifteen dollars per month you must excuse my short letter this time for I giting tired and I want to ly down and take a nap
