Dear Children
It is a long time since I have writen to you but you are not forgoten I often think of you and how you get along this winter & whether you have got any thing from Oliver yet or not if you hear from him I would like to step in and see how you and [?] get along but I suppose you live as nice as can be I hope you both injoy yourselves first rate how does your Mother Shibley get along this winter has Orvilla got married yet she said she would would write to me but she hasent done so yet I wrote to hur some after I got hear and I would like to hear from hur and how she gets along poor girl how I wish hur father would do right and be a sober man but I presume he will allways drink it is a great pity for he can be a gentleman if he is a mind to. I hope she dont think hard of me for I think a great deal of hur but she nos my reasons / whare did Susan go when she sold hur house and how is John Chapmans folks this winter and Ivy's family how do they get along is his mouth any better & is Mrs daget still living I heard that we had a new preacher what is his name do people like him any better than they did Mr wake what has become of [?] and Betty are they both dead for I havent heard from either of them since I left home how did Betty like hur visit east. I will now tell you whare I have bin I have to pennsylvania to see nancy she was quite sick when I left thare but was geting better when I left thare I bin to see lucinda & Plutena stone found them all well stayed all night with them they would like to see you plutena has two children lucinda three [?] and a visit with hur health is very poor stayed with hur two weeks and then to my childhood home was thare one week found all the friends well thare but it / has altered so much it dident look like the old place the pond looked natural with its sprinkling water I wanted to go to the old spring but it was so wet that I could not so I had to give it up libe went with me out there I am now to Uncle greens house bin here amost three weeks uncle green and Charly got hurt and are quite sick yet they were hurt five weeks ago last saturday I saw uncle sam and Aunt Sally last saturday they are hear I havent bin out thare yet nor to [?] shall go from here thare if nothing happens the friends in [?] are all well so far as I father and Mother are vary smart for them you must kiss the children for me tell them grand mother wants to see them very much tell Clarence I have a big red apple I wish he had it I would like to see him eat it but I will let charle eat it for him Lyle cant you send me a kiss charle wants to see you all he sayd this morning he wished we was thare and I am tired of going / from place to place your ant Caroline was hear last Monday and went from hear to [?] she said that theodore health was very poor when she left have you bin to see Susan & Shuley Adams yet If the boy com down I wish you would see if miss [?] got in to the rooms or not I shall be home earley if nothing hapens in the spring Emily is well for hur I am very well now but my hands has bin very sore with the [?] so I couldent use my rite one but it is better now I hope youll go and see Mrs Lockwood for she must be so lonely give my respects to hur and tell hur I often think of hur give my love to all of the friends Mary I hope will write soon for I want to hear from you all In much love I remain your friend and Mother untill death
