Clark Bacon
Clark Bacon was born on October 10, 1809, in Putney, Vermont, to Abner Bacon and Catherine Reed. He married Lydia Bennett Kerr, and their son Harrison was born around 1843. The couple lived in Putney until the 1850s, when they moved to Dummerston, Vermont. Bacon worked as a farmer, and by 1860, he owned $1,800 of real estate and $600 of personal property. A decade later, he owned $2,500 of real estate and $1,000 of personal property. He remained in Dummerston for the rest of his life, and he died there of “kidney trouble” on February 24, 1891.
