Dear Brother
Since I wrote you last we have moved from Chattanooga left there on the 7th of this month & are now camped on a high mountain near the railroad one of the Raccoon mountains betwen Chattanooga & bridgeport in Georgia seven miles from where the three states corner Georgia Alabama & Tenn so I go over to Tenn whenever I see fit my health is some better than when I wrote you last yiet I perform no duty yiet I have a good comfortable place to stay in there is nothing troubling me at preasant but the liver I am greatly in nead of a pair of boots which if you could possibly send me would do me a great kindeness. I will send you the measure on paper properly marked I want them made of heavy french calf lined & heavy double souls comon leg & also please send me a pair of stockings & the Philosophy of Arithmetic if you can find it be careful & not mistake three inches of gold foil send them by mail & what is left of the money I sent you I wil make you a preasant of / please send them as soon as possible & direct to the 3rd Briggad 1st dv, 4 AC
I recieved your letter yiesterday & was pleased to hear that you were all enjoying yourselves as well as you stated the capt has knocked my discharge in head but I have only 9 months to serve I also recieved a letter from Francis & was verry glad to hear from him in his own hand tell Francis that I expect to see him next Sept. my love to friends at home
