Dear Cous James—
To day I have received a letter from you stating that you wrote me a letter some time the first of Nov. I received it. It found me sick wholly unable to write myself but my nurse wrote home and a letter to you the same week Since then I have been waiting very anxiously for an answer but have received none until to day & I hasten to reply. I went home. Our folks most of them think the Will can not be broken but Father says he thinks if the right way / is taken the rightful heirs could get it. My brothers say as they are not acquainted with the case they do not think they will do any thing about it. They are afraid of law therefore do not feel willing to do any thing about it. The girls that have heard Mother say more about eastern matters feel differently. My husband friends live near N.Y. City & are very anxious for us to visit them this spring we talk some of it but have not fully decided We have a little girl a little over four months old and we do not know as it will be warm enough to take her out. If we conclude to go there I think we will see you. What time does the Court sit. Or on what terms do you purpose to settle it. I would for one like to see justice done / If Aunt of her own free will disposed of her property I suppose we can do nothing. Have you proof that she did not? Was she capable of disposing of it? There are so many questions that I would like to ask that I know not what to say first! Will you when you receive this write me immediately & tell me when the Court sits or how you are willing to settle. And what you have done about it. I am going home next week & I will see further about it so as to tell you when you have written again. As I did not hear from you I had concluded that it was given up as a hopeless case. If you think there is a prospect of success I think you will have some help from here. What good could I do by coming there. Please write me freely, wont you? write soon / In my next I will tell you how many of us will help you. My husband is absent from home & will not be here for a week therefore I am not prepared to say fully what I can do any more than the rest. Our folks at home are in usual good health they write. I do not know as I have any news to write therefore I will bid you good bye for this time. Love to all & please accept much for yourself. Dont forget to write soon.
