Nancy Jane Selsor was born around 1846 in Indiana to Andrew and Nancy Selsor. Her father was a farmer who owned $1,500 of real estate and $600 of personal property by 1860. The family lived in Brown, Indiana, until the 1850s, when they moved to Medicine, Missouri. She attended school there. She married John H. Malone in the 1860s, and they had at least two children: Grace, born around 1877; and Bertha, born around 1883. Her husband worked as a farmer in Trenton, Missouri, and by 1870, they owned $200 of personal property. In 1870, they were living next-door to her sister and brother-in-law, Sadie and Joseph Hert. Her husband died in the late 1800s. By 1900, she was living in Liberty, Missouri. She moved to Des Moines, Iowa, in the 1910s, and by 1920, she was living with her daughter Bertha. She died in 1925.
