Benjamin F. Harris
Benjamin F. Harris was born around 1837. By the early 1860s, he was living in Franklin County, North Carolina. He enlisted in the Confederate army on May 20, 1861, at Lewisburg, North Carolina, and he mustered in as a private in Company L of the 15th North Carolina Infantry on June 12. The army transferred him to Company C of the 32nd North Carolina Infantry on July 4, 1862. The regiment took part in the Battle of Gettysburg, the Overland Campaign, the siege of Petersburg, and the Appomattox campaign. He surrendered at Appomattox Court House on April 9, 1865, as part of General Robert E. Lee’s Army of Northern Virginia. He died sometime after 1865.
