William Cameron
William Cameron was born around 1813, probably in the Indiana Territory. By the late 1840s, he was living in Bloomfield, Iowa. He probably supported the Democratic Party, and he served as clerk to the County Commissioners. He married Charlotte Bennett on May 12, 1850, and they had at least four children: America, born around 1852; Jane, born around 1854; Sarah, born around 1856; and Minnie, born around 1866. They lived in Bloomfield, and by 1850, Cameron owned $500 of real estate. They eventually moved to West Grove, Iowa, and Cameron worked as a laborer there. By 1880, he was living in Wyacondah, Iowa. He died in West Grove on March 6, 1886.
