Lucy Worth
Lucy Worth (maiden name: Sawtell) was born around 1801 in Groton, Massachusetts, to Joseph and Lucy Sawtell. She married Stephen Worth in Boston, Massachusetts, on October 27, 1822. They had at least five children: Sarah, born around 1832; Abigail, born around 1834; Alonzo, born around 1836; Warren, born around 1838; and Charles, born around 1843. They eventually settled in Kennebunkport, Maine, and her husband worked as a farmer. By 1850, they owned $850 of real estate. A decade later, they owned $850 of real estate and $200 of personal property. Her husband probably died on September 30, 1866. She may have returned to Boston after his death, and she died there of “paraletic shock” on October 19, 1876.
