Frances S. Knight (maiden name unknown) was born in June 1859 in Virginia. She married Daniel O. Knight around 1886, and the couple apparently had no children. They lived in Washington, D.C., and her husband worked as a dentist. She served on the Board of Directors for the local Wimodaughsis Club. As she explained in 1897, “Wimodaughsis is for the benefit of women (and men are welcome) especially those who have no opportunity for a systematic course of instruction at school or college.” They moved to Centreville, Virginia, in the early 1900s. Her husband died on May 26, 1917. By 1920, she was living in St. Augustine, Florida. She died on January 7, 1922.
