Leonard Chase
Leonard Chase was born on August 7, 1811, in Millbury, Massachusetts, to Jonas Chase. He married Mary Dickey on March 14, 1834, and they had at least three children: Mary, born around 1835; Hannah, born around 1837; and Cornelia, born around 1840. They moved to Milford, New Hampshire, in the late 1840s, and his wife died on December 16, 1843.
 
He married Susannah Shattuck soon afterward, and their son Frank was born around 1845. Chase worked as a merchant, and by 1850, he owned $4,000 of real estate. A decade later, he owned $9,000 of real estate and $16,000 of personal property. He was elected state councillor in the 1860s. He died of apoplexy in Milford on June 7, 1868.
