Eunice R. Burdick (maiden name: Rix) was born on July 22, 1826, in Connecticut to Thomas and Mary Rix. Her father was a farmer who owned $1,500 of real estate by 1850. She married James B. Burdick in Griswold, Connecticut, on March 8, 1848, and they had at least five children: Ella, born around 1852; George, born around 1854; Mary, born around 1857; Ada, born around 1860; and Frank, born around 1860. They lived in Griswold, Connecticut, and her husband worked as a farmer. By 1860, they owned $4,000 of real estate and $2,000 of personal property. A decade later, they owned $7,000 of real estate. She died in Preston, Connecticut, on November 15, 1908.
