Friend Charles
                        I have just had the Plasure of sending your kind letter with Georges inside—I also received two from George bearing rejoicing news to me wich I will tell you before I get through I sent you A letter in this evenings mail—But after reading yours I concluded to write so as to send in the morning—I had waited for you to write intill I was discouraged—it seems you have not got in business yet I am sorry I came aredy if I had thought it would be so long I should not But I trust all will be rite yet my health is/verry good now & Pet is well so I am haveing nice times I am all redy to start in the morning to see his brother at Springhill as I wrote you I wrote to Mrs Smith & directed to Brooklyn I put A letter in it for you & you say they are going to town to board if so I want you to be shure & get that letter for I do not want enny one to see it & the is no evelope on yours—you can take it out of the office & carry it to them you speake of the wach I George rote me he had expresst to you at brooklyn—I do not think it is in the box I did not take it so—
 
however if you can keep it cercret I will tell you something that happly/surprises me & I think it will you—that is I have just send a cercret line from George that he would soon be with you he could not set the day—But I suppose you will have the privilege of seeing him before I do—I want you to go home with him & do the best you can untill I come I would start rite home But I had writen to his broter that I will be there--& it cost so much I want to see them for I don’t know when I shall be in this country again—if George should want to see his brother soon he can, if so he can write immediately & I will stay there if not I will come home as soon as I hear from him—I would write to him there but if he should not be there people would no he was coming & this will answ/answer for boath you & him now Charles see how close you can keep this & Be shure & get that letter of Mrs Smith—& take good care of my little wach till you see me & look out for that neice of mine she is good looking & weres curls Pet calls her Goose now do the best you can & dont wonder if I am excited to night for I want to take wing & fly to Geo But I must try to use reason if I have got eny left—now I want you to do the work for Georg & dont cook so rich victuals as to make him sick for you no solders can not start that I must bid you good night write soon direct to Springhill
