Dear Mamie
I received your very kind letter of the 24th yesterday & will answer it now this is only business as I am in a great hurry The fact is I want a new coat & as you are at Bens he can see to getting it—Enclosed I send the measure. I want a tailor to make it See that the measure is all right I dont want to expensive one but want heavy cloth. I want a clasp & Belt on the waist to extend clear around to relieve the strain on the Buttons such an one as they put on military coats Color Dark Blue & not to cost over $25 I am anxious to have it very soon or I should have waited till I was paid off we have not been paid in three months & if we are not paid soon the next time we shall receive three months pay If you have not got the money ask Ben to lend it to me till I am paid & I will send it/to you & you can pay him I leave it to him to jude about the quality But try and get a good piece for the other was miserable enough I will write again directing how it shall be sent I am in a great hurry for it most awfully wish I had it now
