Annie B. Basye
Annie B. Basye (maiden name: Harding) was born on February 17, 1840, in Northumberland County, Virginia, to William and Rebecca Harding. Her father was a farmer who owned $4,000 of real estate and $4,284 of personal property by 1860. The family moved to Washington, D.C, in the 1840s, before returning to Northumberland County in the 1850s.
 
She married Henry Basye on December 27, 1859, and they had at least three children: Novella, born around 1863; Falcon, born around 1869; and Harry, born around 1877. They lived in Lottsburg, Virginia, and her husband worked as a farmer. She died of “carcinoma of [the] stomach” in Lottsburg on May 29, 1915.
