Eliza Bradbury (maiden name: Webber) was born around 1817 in Perry, Maine, to Asa Webber. Her father was a farmer. She married Wyer Bradbury, and they had at least eight children: Isaac, born around 1840; James, born around 1841; William, born around 1843; Franklin, born around 1850; Lydia, born around 1854; George, born around 1857; Henry, born around 1860; and Clara, born around 1864. They lived in Machias, Maine, and her husband worked as a master mariner. By 1860, they owned $700 of real estate and $150 of personal property. Two of her sons died while serving in the Union military. By 1870, the family owned $750 of real estate. Her husband died on March 7, 1882, and she passed away of bronchopneumonia in Machias on April 14, 1899.
