Sarah Ann Elizabeth Clayton
Sarah Ann Elizabeth Clayton was born on January 26, 1843, in Georgia to Isaac and Susanna Clayton. Her father was a farmer who owned $1,200 of real estate and $150 of personal property by 1860. They lived in Marion County, Georgia, until the 1850s, when they moved to Barbour County, Alabama. She married Sampson A. Renfroe in August 1865, and the couple apparently had no children.
They lived in Barbour County, and her husband worked as a farmer. They moved to Navasota, Texas, in the late 1800s. She died of myocarditis in the Confederate Woman’s Home in Austin, Texas, on September 12, 1916.
