Dear Sister
I seat myself to pencil you a few lines to inform you of my return from my viset at Dexter. I know I aught appolagise for not writing while up there. I know I told I wold but I cold not get about it some how—I had a Splendid time—cold not injoy myself better. They are all well up there excepting Jo. I left him sick. Threatened with a feaver he has not bin out dowers for 4 or 5 days—they had Dr Jerold to see him. (a Spritual docter Fred Shaw is sick with the/measels. they will all have them or at least there is none of the family ever had them Jack Loot Zeru and I spreed it well I tell you I wish you cold of bin there. I was up to the vilage the 4 of March to a ball they had a calico ball—had hulled corn and milk for supper we had a beautifull time and last thursday Eve I was down to brag hollar they had a picnick and a dance. did not get home untill 4 in the morning—and we wer up to Washington Cards one Eve to a dance also we had a little time to Geo Shaws and the same Eve I got up to Loots. we had a Little time I will tell you who was there Chas Titus Mead & Latt Sea Fred May Jule May and Viola/Hodgkins Mary Jennings and Geo. and two other fellows. Jack Loot Zeru and myself. They stoped quite late (I mean those that did go that night) and then to finish up we had a field bed the Shaw Girls and boys Hatt Mead Chas Zeru and myself. but we did not get much Sleep raised ned all night—O I forgot to tell you that in the Eve we had hulled corn and milk—Long toards morning they tried to get zeru to go down sellar and get some cider it was long before light you never did see such actions as we had I came very ny kicking the bucket. a number of times if you doubt my word just ask Hatt. Zeru and I wer up to safferds one Eve had a/gay time Had a good time generally I saw Cal Russell and got acquainted with lots of others—did not see Mary Jumper I Saw Elma though and danced with her
dont you think Mary Shaw is prety she is the prettiest Gurl I saw while I was [paper fold] they are the hombleyest set of folks up there I ever saw. I had a letter from Lucy Robbins when I got back—by the way I have not told you when I got back. I got here about two hours ago whitch was 11/2 O clock Lucy stated in her letter that Geo Stearns had bin down I wold like to see him very much if he has not returned tell him to call over and see me Zeru says she is coming down soon Mell I have lots I cold tell you if I cold see you but I have not time to write more at presant to nite Good Day
