                                                                                                I take this opertunity to inform you that i have got a touch of the rumitism i hant dun any thing for over a week but i am in hopes i shal be well in a few days wee hav had orders to hold our selves redy to march in ten minets notis wee suppose that when Burnsides comes up on the other side wee shall move forward towards mannasas it is no use for me to wright about the war for you no about it as well as i do majr i no/
 
Bub Colcord has been sick with the mesles but has got out of the hospittle maj i rote to you some time a go but hant recieved no anser i put a role of company a i also put in my picter i like to no if you have reseived it. i rote you that i wanted to send some mony home i had a chanse to let it for seven per cent til next pay day and so i let it and have got the captain security wee ware laid of two or three days after i rote to you thare has twenty one Died out of our ridament the last one was buried to day thare is a number/sick now I should liked to had you out here yesterday the hole Devision was on prade and it was splendid to see sixten ridgaments menuver i was so that i got out to see them our company offisers are the best in the Devision thare is so much that i dont know what to wright i expect wee shal have a Battle Before long i rote you that i was to alexandra the Pensylvona lay thare then but sense she has gon down the river and run the blocade thare was putty sharp firing all that night give my best wishes to your family i want/you to wright as soon as you get this for i dont know when i shal get a chanse to wright again but if wee get through safe you will here from me soon            yours with
