William Henry Harrison Knowlton
William Henry Harrison Knowlton was born on January 9, 1808, in Northwood, New Hampshire, to Nathan Knowlton and Abigail Dame. His father worked as a farmer. He married Eleanor R. Norris in Deerfield, New Hampshire, on February 1, 1831, and they had three children: Blake, born on June 29, 1831; Martha, born on February 25, 1833; and Susan, born on January 23, 1836. The family lived in Northwood, and Knowlton worked as a shoemaker and farmer. In 1870, he owned $3,500 of real estate and $700 of personal property. Eleanor died on January 2, 1891, and he passed away of “heart disease + old age” in Northwood on November 29, 1897.
