                                                                                    Dear Brother I thot
I would improve a fiew minets wrighting we are all well it has ben raining to day it has ben verry warm but it is som cooler martha got a letter last week we heard you had got hurt pretty bad a helping Eli brake a colt we have not heard any thing since I hope you have got well be fore this time there is a good many men and boys getting ready to go to war the cavelry copany is going to start in a week or so and a good many is going in the artilery company that is going from warren the potato bugs and grasshopers is dreadfull bad they will eat up evry thing I gess the boys finished haying last week the grass was rather light we had some/ green corn yesterday for the first we have some appels that is getting ripe martha begins to talk about going some time I gess I shall have to have Jane or Billy to come out here and stay with me martin had a letter from Jane two weeks ago she said you hadent ben over to get her things yet I want you to go and see about them I want you to right and let us know if Mrs Boyd hears from Hiram or not I hope you and sary Ann has got to houskeep before this time or if Elizabeth sticks their yet if she does you tell her to take one side of the house and you will the other be caus there is no use of living so mary dont never think of righting but she can do as she has a mind to I want you wright as soon as you get it and dont put it of right all the news           from Eliza/
 
            Goodafter noon Sarah Ann I will try now to answer your welcomed letter which I have neglected so long I have ben talking of righting ever since I received your letter but neglected untill now we are well as comon the baby grows pretty and good evry day I have named the baby my self his name is Fortunous Freeman Ford it is a pretty long name for a baby but I expect he will be the president some day kiss Eliza for me and tell her the baby is coming out to see her some day has sary Frazer ben up to see you since you was out here i expect you have had forty thousand questions asked you about us lets know if you have herd from gust since he went away mandana rote she had ben up to your hous and sutch a good/ visit I gess I have rote all the news you must excuse me for not righting sooner is their agoing to be a fair at meadvill or cometvill this fall if there is right when they going to be give mi best respects to all inquires and except a shair for your self I want you and Jimmy to set down and right me agood long letter when you receive this
