Henry Overacker
Henry Overacker was born around 1821 in Ohio. He eventually moved to Illinois, and he married Malinda Grigsby on February 9, 1841. She probably died in the 1840s, and he married Louisa Woodward on March 12, 1846. They had at least three children: Alvina, born around 1850; Mary, born around 1852; and Luick, born around 1859. They lived in Rome, Iowa, and Overacker worked as a farmer. They moved to Pleasant, Iowa, in the 1850s. By 1860, he owned $200 of real estate and $150 of personal property.

Overacker enlisted in the Union army on August 9, 1861, and he mustered in as a corporal in Company F of the 2nd Iowa Cavalry on September 9. The regiment took part in the siege of Corinth. He died of disease near Memphis, Tennessee, on October 31, 1863.
