Louisa Overacker
Louisa Overacker (maiden name: Woodward) was born on December 1, 1828, in Ohio. She eventually moved to Illinois, and she married Henry Overacker on March 12, 1846. They had at least three children: Alvina, born on February 22, 1849; Mary, born on July 30, 1851; and Luick, born on November 4, 1858. They lived in Rome, Iowa, and her husband worked as a farmer. They moved to Pleasant, Iowa, in the 1850s. By 1860, they owned $200 of real estate and $150 of personal property. Her husband served in the 2nd Iowa Cavalry, and he died on October 31, 1863.
 
She applied for a widow’s pension in February 1864 and eventually secured one. She married John C. Crawford on April 23, 1864. They probably lived in Sioux City, Iowa. Crawford may have died, and she eventually married John C. Powell. He died in 1893. She lived in Hawarden, Iowa, and she died there in February 1916.
