Absent Sister. I now seat myself to answer your your letter which I receiveg the twenty-six. I was on the Batle field we was out two days our ridgement made a charge and fell back we lost sixdy men. it was a foolish move but it was to draw the attention of the Res so that Gaant could opperrate Peatersburg Oh I did not tell you how I like to fite Thare is not much fun in it the Canister shot flew like hail and I was luckey enough to come out all rite.
I saw Nat. W yestrday he is in 8 Me Ridgement Co D.
Sam P. is in the same Ridg with me/ sam said that he wrote home that I was going to Battle & he wrote that I came all out rite. thair was two kill & three wonded the rebs are deserting every day thair air growing sick of the sport tell mother not to worry about me for O.D. can take care of himself I want you to write as often as you can write how father gits along with work & if Ponp dont behave well you must lick him
