Dear Jemima
            A note from William informs me, that you are to leave for America tomorrow. At first I thought it the most prudent course to have written you, bidding you farewell; but the opinion of those, whose advice I have never found amiss, being, of opinion, that I was bound to call, and do so personally, I will be up at seven o’clock this evening. I hope the past will be forgotten, and that

my heartfelt wish that God may bless you and your intended richly with every thing good here, and when the solemn moment of seperation comes between you, it may only be that you may be for ever united in that happy world hereafter.
