To J. N. Huddleston, Dear brother I started a letter to you a day or 2 ago, but I did not think of every thing I wanted to. If I think I can buy that note of Rob. P. on you very cheap I will see him in afew minutes and know whether I can or not. if so I will. you write whether you can get the note or not by I think you can by me sending you a receipt from Bob for the Note. Bob has not drawn any money & I dont know when he will. we only drew up / to the 1st day of Nov. & that did not include Bob & he needs will need money before he draws I have nothing more to write. I thought I would name it to you. Tell Drury, I will write out our whole travel & skirmishes in full detail & send to him, as he loves to read. I have it already written but not in any kind of form. I keep account of all our travel skirm who got killed wounded captured &c &c /
We will cross Tenn River in the morning early, or per haps to night then we will be in West Tennessee where the Federals are thick. Some of Grants army was here day before yesterday & fired across the river at Bifle’s cavalry & it is said killed a woman in the firing but I do not know whether it is so or not. I believe we will stay in West Tn this winter. We are now cooking 3 days / rations & Forest is in a hurray to get over the river he has something perhaps of importance in view wee we will know in 3 days after we cross.
Monroe says tell his folks he is well. George is well our company is generally well there are 3 in Hospital at Columbia Give this finger ring to sarah Jane. Tell Rob that I will send him a pretty next time. I have nothing now Yours
