Dear Farther. Heare I send you the sum of $60.00 $40 of it is to go toards the House And I want you to give the other $20 to Mary Ann to bye something to remember me by. the first Ct Reg is going of to washington to night at eleven oclock And I am glad of that for the sholdiers are dying off so fast 6 dyed yesterday and 3 or 4 to day. by drinking sider that was poysond. We have got our rgeiment full at the house that I stayed in last / night had 3000 soldiers enough to make one good regiment I will rite next week agane as soon as we get settled down And let you know whire to send your letter and give you the directions
Give my love to mary Ann & tell her that she shall heare from me next So look oute for number one
