Dear Farter
I am well, And I received yours yesterday of the 5th, in aboute half of A hour after we arivd heare I found several of my tet comrads heare in the Co. D. One of them if is Uncle Alrys brother, Potter, & Tom Newton & albert Shippee & several others that live to Davidsonville
You rote to me how mutch I was to give for Mr Woods house & I will tell you I was to pay $650.00 And no more. And I supposed that it was perfatly understood on booth sides. And the taxes &c was to be redused / from the $650. We talked it over & over agan that I was to $650. for the house & shop & land. But if he is sick of his bargain let it go And do what you think is best with the money. I have sent home $60 more by express you take $40 of it & let Marry have the other $20. And I want you to let her board there as long as nessessary & I will alow you what is rite for her board, & take your bills oute of it & rite to me how mutch there will be left of it & keepe it all strat And if Mary Ann is sick or stands in neede of enny more monney let hir have it /
No more at present, Rite soon rite often & long letters & tell Laura to rite & Byront to for I shall be glad to from them enny time
