Mr elexander Kennon
I now take my pen in hand to let you no that we are well at present and hope that the blesing of god may rest upon the union for i am now about to leave my family to fight for my cuntory and I want some money for my family so that they can live without want of any thing to live on you said in your last letter that if i wanted my money to write so now we are in need of some I have some 18 or 20 acres now in use but not all the large timber off of it I have got my brother in law / law to farm it and take off the rest of the timber my corn is nothing for it has been so wet it drowned out my wheat turned to chat so i am out of grain for bread stuff i have received from you $75 and have against you $49.80 for taxes $49.80 wich which would leave $25.20 on the clearing and i would like to have the rest for 18 or 20 acres which will be very gladly excpted for the suport of my family while i am gon i have some 25 acers under fence which will be cleaned up we went to camp the 5 and dont expect to stay there longer than about 3 weeks /
 
write as soon as you get this for I wanto now how much you can send me
