            Dear Sister Martha
in stid of siting down and telling you how I am I will write you a fiew lines to let you know that I am well and I hope this will find you the same
 
we left Camp Butler on the 17th and landed here this morning. I staid in Springfield the firs knight after I left home and I have not had my blankets unroled but one knight since we was so crouded that we had to sleep a sitting up the most of the time. we came through som very nice places one was Indianaplouis Ind / nice place. Nashville the place we ar now is a large and nice place. we have nothing to cook in. in fact we have not drew any thing whether we will draw here or not I cant say. you will want to know how I like this part of the world I will try and tell you the next time I write. it is almost as cool here as it was when I left Camp Butler. I will close for my way of writing is very poor pleas write soon and tell me how you ar a geting a long also Sam and Arther. I think a gainst I hear from you I will know what our destiny is.
