I received yours of the 28th yesterday it found me well and I was glad to hear of you being well John Jonson landed here the 10th and has been here every since he is on his way to Pain bluff where the 106th is thare has been no boat going down the river or he would have gon before this he went to town to day to see if he could get of I dont know whether he will make it or not he says times is very good in Illinois.
thare is a lot of trops coming in here now the 114th is in twenty five miles of here John com down from Memphis / with them he says thare is but fiew of them left thay have been expecting an attact on this place for the last two weeks old Price is said to be crosing with a lot of men a bove here a bout eighty miles (80). we have som very incurging nuse here now from Sherman and I hope it is Sow you spoke of bilding if you want to youse any more of my money I expect you can get som from Luther I sent him som not long a go if he dont want to youse all of it you can get it and youse it and wellcom I told him to get som timothy seede with it to sow next spring we did not draw any money bounty this time I cant say when we will draw any more money but I expect / to draw before I will neede any I will send you two more Photographs when you get those tell me how many you have got. if you should see John Jonson when he gets back he can tell you all of the nuse. if you see him tell me what he thinks of the tenth.
well martha as I have nothing of importance to write I will close and I want you to answer this as soon as you get it.
how dow you think old Abe will run this time. I can only say this much and that is I would like to have the chance to vote for him but I guess that is plaid I am a fraid so no more but still remains your true friend and well
