Sister Martha
once more I have the plasure of seating myself for the purpice of trying to write a fiew lines to you in reply to your kind and wellcom letter of Oct 26th which I received two or three days ago. how long it had been here I cannot say for I had just returned from a fifteen days scout. thay have us out the most of the time we expect to start in the morning again for fifteen days and maby all winter. I expect to go / unless I have a chill to day I had one yesterday. it seams as tho prices army is spliting up in squads to try and get back we are a going to do the same and see what we can do for them our brigade has latley capturd som of the worst men this state a fords.
well martha you said that you had not received any letter from me for som time it is not because I have not writen for I have answerd every letter that I have got from you latley without delay and if I dont do so here after it will be because my chances are poor you can rest ashourd of that / the nuse is good as far as we have heard from the alection we have had no official report yet but I think just as I did before the alection the thing will go alrite.
Som say thay think the war will go on four year more but I cant think so it seams to me if god is a just god he will not permit the rongs to go on four years more as thay have been going for the last four years but it is not for us to say when it will close. as I am four more letters behind hand I will close pleas write often. your
most truly John E Jenison
