Dear Mother
I suppose this will be the last letter I shall write to you from this Hospital as the Dr has been inspecting again and put me down for duty in the Regt. I suppose you want to know how my leg is, well, it is not healed up yet and runs some, and I expect I shall be sent as soon as there is Transportation. as so you will direct my letters in future to the Regt. when we get to Breasher City a Dr inspects us and I guess I shall be sent back to the convalescent camp if so I will let you know. last night I received two letters from you and Lizzie and am glad to know that you are all well as I am.

I also received two bundles of papers. we get the Messenger here every month and a childs paper called “Good News” and other religious papers, Bibles and Testaments by the sanitary commission. For the past few days I have been doing guard duty which is very light but now I am off for the Regt I have done. I have not much more news to write but look out for a letter from me to Father with $10.00 in it for expenses on box. give my love to all

                                                            I remain
                                                                        your ever loving Son
                                                                                    Reuben
