Brashear City
Camp Reno April 9, 1863
Eliza Ann I recieved your letter last night stating mother’s Death it is with mutch difficulty I can write I cant look on the paper my head is so bad I cant write But a fiew lines. the army is on the march for to meet the Rebels tha are crosing the Bay now the 114 crost two ours A go and hear I am on this side of the Bay sick and cant march with them it will take all day for the troops to cross thear is 20,000 in all that cross hear thear is four gunboats and two steam Boats taking them A crost tha lands them puty fast I tell you it is hering times now. general Banks and staff are hear A planing the crosing and the line of march he sends A nother army Round Another way to meet this so the Rebels cant retreate so he will have them fast I supose the heaviest Battle will Be at Franklin about twenty miles from hear I stop writing and go out a short time and see them cross and form in line of march it is a site. the caverley the Batery and artilery and infrentry I cant give you the perticklears now I aint well enough I must lay down and Rest
did Frank git the letter that had the mony in it for his Birth Day present
