Eliza & Frank it is sorrowfull that I write this morning horis Mcguyre left hear this morning for the hospatle in neworleans he came hear yesterday he was wounded in the foot the Ball went through his foot jest Below his ankle & came out By the Big toe joint he feels in good spearts he was with the wounded I stated in my other letter Before this But I didnt see him till I had maild it he heard I was hear Buy some one and he sent A man to find me he ses william Mcguyre went through all the Battles safe till he left he ses one day tha fought from ten oclock till sundown Every canon shot over two hundred Balls within that time. tha drove three Rebel Baterys as fast as tha stove A rebel Batery another would take its plase till sundown, and tha stood thear ground til the Rebels Retreated I dont feel vary well to day I have ben standing in the hot sun to day to long the Boat came down with 150 prisnors and I stood Round in the sun to long A seeing them git A Board of the cars for neworleans general Banks has made A grand move he takes everything Befour him. the Rebels prisnors say if our armys had pushed A head as general Banks has with his army with the determination to conker or die tha would cut the Rebels army all to peases on year A go. this move will make Banks one of the Best generals in the world general wertsil next tha say those that have come Back that general wertsil ceap in the hotiset part of the fight whear the Balls flew in all direction Riding back and forward praising his men he would say Boys you are doing well.
