Eliza & Frank I write A fiew lines to inform you that I am A live yet & feel vary well Except I have Biles come out on me as fast as one gits well A nother comes out tha are thease large Blu Biles I think my Blood will Be puty well clend out when tha git through coming out on me I have onley got three on me now wall let them work I can stand it if I dont have Eny wors sickness I shal Be glad. wall, Eliza & Frank how is your health this morning & sisters & Roys to can he say mar & par yet if he can he is A puty smart Boy. I am onley writing to pass A way the time & pain I have plenty of time to write now I am A waiting for the newes Boy to come with the papers then I will Buy one then I can pass A way the time in Reading the news / you must write the perticklears what is going on in oxford Frank I want you should make your words A litle plainer when you write take A litle mor pains in writing you do vary well now, But your last letter I hardley could make out the words was not plain tha was mixt oup to mutch you must not feel hard to me for tell you. I want you to write to me every week & that will learn you to write you must write A little Every day in A letter arfter you comence it A fiew lines at A time & in A week you will have A good letter writen it is vary still times hear now it seemes like sunday thear is nothing going on to Excite Eny one as thear has for four or five mounths Back the solgers got puty tiard & tha ceap puty still now till tha git Rested I will write some more to marow I expect A letter from you to day tha Expect the mail to day / we are having A vary hard shower gest now at twelve oclock it Rains down in torants I tell you within one our from now the sun will shine hot A noughf to melt one down to the ground we have had showers hear Every day for twelve days it makes the air colean for A short time But when the sun comes out it is vary hot I tell you I am waiting for the mail & the papers anxousley I have not heard A word about my check of thirty two Dolars sence I got my pay whither the pay master has sent them or not you ask mr Lewis if he has got them I would like to know what it meains some ses that he was A gonter send them to the cornel perlee[?] & he was A gonter send them he has not got them yet I dont know what to think A Bout it I gess it will come out all Right yet the goverment is good for it you see mr. Lewis & write to me / Frank I sent you some mony in three other letters Before this & I will send you fifty cents in this I will send you some more if you git all of this write to me as soon as you git this & let me know you must git your mother some tobacker with it I wrote in my other letter that you & your mother must take it & attend the fair with it Every day Enjoy your selfs as well as you can for what good dose mony do when one is dead I want Frank to go & you to go with him & show & tell him & Explain the artechentur (spell Roung) to him I want him to see & learn all he can A Bought sutch things it will Be A Benifet to him I think
August. 9th. 1863 the mail come to camp last night & no letter for me thear will Be A nother to day or to marrow I think I will git one then I will send this letter to day & two papers I Read them & send them to you to Read look them all over & Read Every word in them I will write in two or three days A gain I must Bid you good day Frank.
